WAG Junior, Senior/International Coach and Head Coach Opportunities

WOMEN'S ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS (WAG) COACHES

About Us:

We are entering a pivotal phase of rebuilding our WAG program, initially focusing on developing athletes at the elementary and junior levels. This foundational work is essential for nurturing young talent and ensuring a strong future for our program. Concurrently, we remain committed to supporting our high-performance senior and international athletes, ensuring they receive the guidance and training needed to excel.

Positions available:

To assist us, we are seeking interest from passionate and experienced coaches to join our team, filling the following roles:

Junior Coach

  • Approximately 14 to 18 hours per week

  • Must hold a Junior Coach GNZ qualification or an Elementary Coach GNZ qualification and be working towards or prepared to upskill to a Junior Coach qualification.

  • Experience implementing training plans under the guidance of the Head Coach

  • Provide support during competitions and events

Senior/International Coach

  • Approximately 20 to 24 hrs per week

  • Hold a senior coach (Fig level 2 academy) GNZ qualification and working towards or prepared to upskill to a Senior advanced qualification

  • Experience developing advanced training programs tailored to high-performance athletes

  • Provide support during competitions and events  

Head Coach WAG

  • Approximately 4 to 6 hrs per week (to be held concurrently with another WAG coach role).

  • Lead and manage the WAG coaching team.

  • Develop and implement well-designed training programs to nurture athlete development and progression.

  • Drive the growth of the WAG program.

  • Manage the communications with parents.

  • Work closely with the head of our other programmes and stakeholders.

  • Lead the arrangements of in-house competitions and events.

The roles have been detailed above as separate roles to highlight the different coaching opportunities in our program that we are looking to fill. To fill our program’s needs, we are open to suitably qualified individuals interested in coaching across a range of levels or wanting to specialise in either Junior or Senior roles. We are also open to adding the Head Coach role to a Junior or Senior WAG coaching role, provided that the individual has the proven capacity and enthusiasm required to excel in the role.

The hours indicated are approximate only and will be discussed further with interested candidates through the application process.
